Forcing Bulbs
We are entering into the months were few outdoor plants will be blooming. Thus, flowering bulbs, placed throughout your home in key areas, is a special treat for your eyes, nose and spirit. Wednesday is the day to learn one new thing — today’s topic is forcing bulbs.
It’s easy and cheap. Empty glass bowls/small vases or any pot will suffice. You can use dirt, marbles, seashells . . . as the filler. First choose your favorite bulbs, (CLICK HERE for bulb resources). You may want an ensemble to create a fragrant symphony throughout your rooms . . . or for holiday gifts! Next, cover the bulbs with the filler, leaving the tips exposed. Add water and leave the containers in filtered light. Soon you should see the little green leaves emerging from the uncovered tips of the bulbs. Voila - your home is filled with the zen of springtime in the depths of winter. How great!
The Written Art of Saying Thank You (sample notes included)
You are invited to dinner, have attended a wedding, or been given a present. What do you do? Classy you compose a handwritten note as a gesture of appreciation. Anyone can send an ecard — that really says very little. It’s so commercial that it, quite frankly, is tacky. Write a simple email and you’ll look like a clod. Your sentiments need not take more than a paragraph — it’s the thought that counts. I’ve included a link for personalized stationary below. Does this seem too Victorian for 2007? You can make the most of that era by sending a secret love poem or note – VERY ROMANTIC! I’ve included a link, below, for that, as well. Ecards are also a fun way to stay in touch with friends when you don’t have the time to visit in person or by phone. Play with the links, below, and have a great day!
Personalized memo pads and note pads. Perfect for the hardworking professional or the mom with too much on her mind!
